About the destination: Girona is a one of the biggest towns in Catalonia, enclosed by defensive walls and the Río Onyar. It is located at the north of the region and serves as the capital of the Girona Province, which includes the stunning Costa Brava. This ancient city is medieval and cosmopolitan at the same time, with a well preserved Old Town and full of hip bars and chic shops. The town has an attractive Jewish quarter, an impressive cathedral and several interesting museums. Girona’s cathedral, uphill from the river, can be seen from many points of the city. After walking through the old town you come to a wide stairway leading up to the cathedral. The cathedral has got a beautiful baroque façade and inside it has the widest Gothic nave in Europe. The cathedral is part of the town's historic and archaeological walk which runs along the old town, mostly atop of the city's ancient ramparts. The church of Sant Feliu is the second most important church in Girona, just a few steps away from the Cathedral. This church has a mix between Romanesque and Gothic styles and is dedicated to Saint Feliu, a Catalan saint and martyr. Near the cathedral, we find the Arabic Baths, an imitation of medieval Muslim baths. As a university centre, Girona combines past and vibrant present: art galleries, trendy cafés, and a lively nightlife. It is also a perfect base to explore the surrounding region. It sits just outside of the Pyrenees Mountains and is in close proximity to the beaches of the Costa Brava. It truly is a beautiful part of Catalonia that should be on everyone's itinerary.

About the destination: Valencia prizes its huertas, orchards, of citrus fruit trees, which flourish despite the arid conditions. Here visitors will find monuments to water, or fountains, and celebrations of vegetation, or gardens. This provincial capital, the third largest city in Spain, also offers a variety of museums and ancient monuments and buildings, all with a distinctly Moorish and nautical flavour. Valencia is the birthplace of both paella and orxata de chufas, and it provides the most authentic setting for sampling them. From the Old Town rises the Gothic and neoclassical Seu, Metropolitan Cathedral. Its tower, the Micalet, offers a far-reaching panorama of the historic centre of the city. The inside of the cathedral is notable for its cool simplicity and simple, but beautiful, six-panel altarpiece. The Museu de la Seu, the Cathedral Museum, claims among other lesser treasures, two large Goyas and one of Spain’s several supposedly authentic Holy Grails. Nearby is the Llotja de la Seda, the former silk exchange, with its handsome pillars. No matter if you like the modern or the old, Valencia has everything to offer. You can get lost at night in the historic centre and walk in front of the illuminated cathedral or visit La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the City of Arts and Sciences, the avant-garde side of the city.

About the destination: Calpe / Calp is a city in the province of Alicante. It is a very popular tourist destination, especially among British and German tourists. There are undoubtedly very nice places in Calpe but nowhere can it be compared to its famous landmark which is the "Peñón de Ifach". It is a gigantic and imposing granite rock more than 600 meters high. An emblem of the city and one of the most beautiful places, there is no more beautiful postcard in Calpe than the one that this mountain offers us at sunset. This is why one of the most popular activities is the climb to the Rock. But Calpe not only has that, Calpe breathes history on all four sides. Here are archaeological remains dating from the Bronze Age, but it was during the time of the Roman Empire when the city acquired great importance, thanks to its strategic location. It has an inheritance from the cultures that passed through there, the ruins of the Baths of the Queen remain from the Romans, it was also invaded by the Muslims, but the remains of the defensive wall and the Torre de la Peça already belong to the time of the Christian conquest. In addition to history, Calpe offers you more than 12km of coastline with a very varied geography. Its 14 beaches are synonymous with quality and scenic beauty. About the destination: Xàtiva’s monuments stand in stately testimony to the prominent role the city has played across the ages. An Episcopal seat at the time of the Visigoths, it scaled the heights of cultural splendour under Moorish rule. Then, following the Christian reconquest, it was the second biggest city in the Kingdom of Valencia, and home to great names such as the Borgia family, which gave the world two popes, and the painter Josep (or Jusepe) de Ribera, known as Lo Spagnoletto. It was an Austrian stronghold in the War of the Spanish Succession and was razed under the orders of Philip V, the first Bourbon king of Spain – an event still branded on the city and on the collective memory of its inhabitants, who have since come to be known as socarrats or “the singed ones”. The ancient core of this special city was officially declared a Site of Historical and Artistic Interest in 1982, and you simply cannot visit without taking a leisurely stroll around the streets of the old quarter and pausing to admire its spectacular collection of monuments born of a turbulent past and present. Crowned from on high by the imposing watchtower of El Castell, Xàtiva is home to such great buildings as the collegiate basilica of Santa María (known as La Seu or La Colegiata), the Hospital Reial, the chapels of Sant Feliu, Sant Josep and Santa Anna, the churches of Sant Pere and Sant Francesc, Plaça de la Trinitat square, the former convent of Sant Domènec, the birthplace of Pope Alexander VI, and various palaces from different periods.

About the destination: Almeria is a fairly modern city and port in the east of Andalucía. The city of Almeria is also a gateway for the natural reserve of Cabo de Gata, a volcano area with virgin beaches and isolated coves. The Alcazaba on the hill dominates the city and is the most important monument in Almería. The citadel once housed a palace and immense gardens. Little remains of the original Alcazaba, but the walls and towers have been beautifully reconstructed and are adorned with beautiful gardens, ornamented ponds and fountains which evoke the Muslim past of the place. The Alcazaba is entered through a watchtower that leads to the Puerta de la Justicia via some paved steps lined with a fine array of flora. From there, visitors will enjoy fantastic views over the city. Another point of interest is the city’s fortified cathedral, which was built in the 16th century. The Cathedral is located in the heart of the old part of the city and its architecture is a combination of Gothic and Renaissance styles. About the destination: Estepona is a town and municipality in Costa del Sol. Estepona is one of the few coastal towns that has succeeded in maintaining its pueblo charm and character, despite the onslaught of tourism. Notwithstanding, all the tourist facilities are here, including hotels, restaurants, leisure and cultural activities, and shops. Numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies and the steep, cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars. You'll also find unusual shops and bodegas in Estepona, where you'd least expect them, all very inviting, very friendly and cheap. Playa Del Cristo is five minutes west of Estepona Port. It is a small cove with lifeguards on station and "chiringuitos" or beach front bar/restaurants. Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Estepona is the exhibition and congress center of Estepona. This center is home to nearly all of Estepona's organized events including product presentations, fairs, commercial exhibitions, concerts and more.

About the destination: Torremolinos is a municipality on the Costa del Sol of the Mediterranean, immediately to the west of Málaga. Torremolinos was originally a fishing village back in the 1920s, but has been rapidly overtaken by tourism. Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities and nightlife available. At the height of summer, the resort has a great appeal for the younger set, with a reputation for its hectic nightlife. The Pimentel Tower is Torremolinos’s most popular icon. Also known as Torre de los Molinos, this tower dates back to the fourteenth century. San Miguel Street is the nerve center of town and an open-air shopping center. In fact, it is one of the busiest streets in Europe.

About the destination: Malaga, the birthplace of Picasso, exudes art from every brick. Considered one of the oldest cities in Spain and Europe, this cosmopolitan port is buoyantly modern yet it hangs on to its vast historic past. The palm-lined Paseo el Parque will take you below Alcazaba, a Moorish palace whose fortified walls enclose fragrant gardens and an archaeological museum. The lofty Gibralfaro Castle crowns a nearby hill, with outstanding views of the sprawling city below. Also worth a visit is the Picasso Museum that, aside from an impressive artistic patrimony, offers educational activities and cultural events. Málaga deserves a good night visit: do not miss a good walk along the harbour where traditional fried fish is washed down with cold beer at chiringuitos (beach bars) and enjoy the illuminated Alcazaba, which watches over the city from Mount Gibralfaro.
