Haarlem The Netherlands

Haarlem is a city located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, in the northwest of the Netherlands. Once, it was an important north sea trading port, surrounded by a defensive wall. Today, it still retains its medieval character with its cobblestone streets and houses with gables. It is the center of an important flower bulb growing district and is also famous for its tulip fields, which are located on the outskirts of the city, its art museums and the hofjes (charitable houses built in lush courtyards).
