Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania, the land of plenty!

In anticipation of five fantastic days, you will be greeted by your safari guide who will take you by private transfer to your accommodation. The drive to Arumeru River Lodge takes approximately 40 minutes.

Sit back and enjoy the drive into the seven hectare game reserve where the lodge is situated.

Start your holiday by relaxing in the lodge's tropical garden. Have a snack on the sundeck or cool off with a swim in the pool. If you are lucky, you may get a close up look at the small dik-diks (dwarf antelopes). If the weather is good, you can climb up to the viewing platform for a view of the mighty Kilimanjaro.

Your day will be rounded off with a culinary experience as you dine before lights out at Arumeru River Lodge.

Day 2: After breakfast we depart for Tarangire National Park, one of the most beautiful game reserves in Tanzania. Our game drive starts just outside the gate. We have a picnic lunch in the middle of the park.

We arrive at Maweninga Camp just in time for sunset and enjoy our first sundowner on the rocky plateau in the middle of the bush. After this exhilarating experience, you will end the day with a delicious dinner.

Tarangire National Park: At around 2,600km², Tarangire NP is one of the five largest parks in Tanzania and provides plenty of food for its inhabitants throughout the year. It is home to rare species such as gerenuk, lesser kudu and oryx, and the largest wildlife population outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Most notably for its huge herds of elephant. Herds of elephants. Especially in late summer and autumn you can see a variety of animals on game drives. Big cats, giraffe, buffalo and elephant can be seen all year round.

Day 3: Right after breakfast, it's "Heia Safari" - which means "Let's go!" or "Have a good trip!

With the latest safari information from your guide, you will start your drive to other regions of Tarangire National Park. The landscape here is diverse and home to many species of animals. In the late morning you will leave the park and drive towards the Ngorongoro Crater. The route is very scenic. Passing many villages and plantations, the road climbs the Great Rift Valley escarpment and ends in Karatu at the foot of the crater. After lunch at Gibbs Farm, you will visit a coffee plantation with us. In the evening, enjoy another excellent dinner before going to bed, full of anticipation for the next day.

Day 4: Today the Ngorongoro Crater calls!

In the morning you will drive to the crater rim at an altitude of 2100m. You will be rewarded with fantastic views and an exciting drive down into the crater. Here the game drive begins with a picnic in the 20km wide caldera, which has its own ecosystem due to the 600m high natural wall. Ngorongoro Crater: The crater is a unique place and home to hundreds of animals. All the big African mammals can be found here: Lions, leopards and hyenas as well as herds of wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, hippo and the now rare rhino.

Day 5: Today it is time to say goodbye to the wilderness of Tanzania and the Rift Valley.

On the way back to Arusha, you will once again experience the vast landscape with its small villages and markets. There is also time for a little shopping. Enjoy your lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge before you are transferred back to Kilimanjaro Airport or alternatively to Arusha National Airport if you wish to fly on to Zanzibar.
